Web Designer

The in-office web designer will be responsible for the vast majority of frontend design and development on a wide variety of projects. High quality creativity is the number one requirement for this position.

The designer will be creating full web pages, web elements, mockups and everything in between. If you have a penchant for creating logos, we'll probably throw a few of those your way too. You will also work closely with the backend development team to create interactive web experiences out of your great designs!

Must haves

• Exceptional design skills with a portfolio of work
• A great attitude, must play well with others
• A strong willingness to learn how to integrate design into the interactive web
• A solid understanding of HTML and CSS
• Familiarity with Javascript
• Familiarity with UX/UI best practices

Nice to have, but not required

• Expert level HTML and CSS
• Working knowledge of frontend css frameworks like blueprint, yui or any others
• Working knowledge of a Javascript framework like jQuery or ExtJS
• Experience with any sort of templating language (i.e. Smarty, Twig, straight PHP, etc)

PHP Developer (Internship)

We looking for a young mind to sculpt. We'd like to talk to you if you have worked with PHP and want to jump head first into some cutting-edge projects on a part-time basis.

You'll work with one or more well-seasoned PHP professionals that can bring your development skills to the next level. You should be the type of person that is ready to learn and work hard. We'll be flexing your brain every time you step into the office.

Must haves

Junior PHP Developer

The Junior PHP Developer will be responsible for coding system elements as assigned by one or more Senior PHP Developers. You will work closely with both developers and designers and act as an intermediary on integrating backend and frontend systems. You will also sit in on infrastructure design discussions and hopefully add a fresh perspective based on your experiences.

This developer is a key element in our working environment. There will be a great deal of learning on your part to bring you up to a mid-level developer status, because you will be involved in all aspects of system development.

Must haves

• A solid understanding of PHP with experience in object oriented development
• A great attitude, must play well with others
• Linux, Apache & MySQL (or other DB) experience
• Understanding of and experience with MVC architectures
• Ability to code hand code HTML without the use of an editor
• Experience with Javascript and one or more JS libraries like jQuery or ExtJS

Nice to have, but not required

• Familiarity with UX/UI best practices
• Experience developing a full, interactive web site structure using OOP PHP
• Working knowledge of backend PHP frameworks like Symfony, Zend, CakePHP, CodeIgniter, etc.
• Experience with any sort of templating language (i.e. Smarty, Twig, straight PHP, etc)
• Comfortable at the Linux command line
• Linux shell scripting experience

Senior PHP Developer

The Senior PHP Developer will work directly with the firm owner (a second senior) to plan and build underlying infrastructures for all projects. You will make suggestions for appropriate frameworks and plan development paths for new modules/plugins on existing implementations. You will work closely with the Junior development staff as well as the creative staff.

An outgoing and friendly personality is a must for this position as you will also be a point of contact for clients. You must be highly responsive and have exceptional writing skills. An entrepreneurial spirit is a must for this level developer in our firm.

The Senior developer will also work closely with the firm owner to develop a handful of proprietary PHP applications that will be used within client projects. You will also be exposed to our internal network of web sites to suggest, create and implement enhancements to individual sites and services.

Must haves

• 6+ years of experience with object oriented PHP design and development.
• Heavy experience with more than one framework - Symfony and Zend are a major plus.
• Expert level knowledge of HTML and Javascript with solid understanding of CSS
• Extensive AJAX experience using one or more Javascript libraries like jQuery of ExtJS
• Thorough knowledge of Linux and Apache with extreme comfort at the command line
• Experience with high traffic web sites - both design and maintenance
• Expert level knowledge of at least one RDBMS, preferably MySQL
• Comfort with EAV data modeling and best practices for implementation
• Experience using a version control system
• Full SDLC experience using Agile methods

Nice to have, but not required

• Working knowledge of Symfony 2
• Work with GIT
• Support (at any level) within one or more open source PHP based projects
• Experience creating, maintaining and properly upgrading out-of-the-box, installable PHP applications
